Job Title: IT Clinical Analyst

Job Description: This is a fulltime, regular position. 40hrs/per week. Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* The primary focus for this role is the implementation, maintenance, support and ongoing training associated with advanced clinical applications including Electronic Medical Record System, Electronic Practice Management System and Lab Ordering System.
* Develop and maintain custom clinical content
* Perform clinical workflow analysis and process redesign
* Provides support and maintenance activities for clinical interfaces
* Develops documentation including specifications, project plans and timelines, Act as operational/data liaison with departments to identify and resolve operational workflows issues related to technology, and issues related to data, data integrity, and interfaces.
* Responsible for all application training for physicians, nurses and other clinical staff. It is fundamentally important that the individual in this role understands general clinical workflow and how the software applications are used to support it.
* The Clinical Analyst will learn about specific applications through vendor training, participation on implementation teams and testing.
* Duties also include creation of training materials, standards, policies, procedures, task and issues logs, application testing, issue investigation, and problem resolution.
Participation in Meetings/Committees
Attends meetings as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
* Experience with Centricity EMR (Logician) and Centricity PM applications preferred.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS and other procedural coding
* Expertise with healthcare business processes and associated clinical application software.
* Willingness to learn and implement a variety of teaching methodologies.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Applications.
* Effective oral and written communication skills are a must.
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Self-motivated, detail oriented and a proven history of ability to make independent decisions.

Education and/or Experience
* Bachelors in Nursing, Science, Computer Science, Education, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
* 1-3 years experience as clinical analyst.
* 1-2 years training experience with healthcare company preferred.
* Knowledge of clinical workflow and medical terminology preferred.
* Knowledge of DBMS, ie ORACLE, SQL, etc.

Computer/Software Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the use of PC software applications including Microsoft Office and programming using packages.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general medical periodicals, professional journals, clinical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability
Very High Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
Must have reliable transportation.
Demonstrated experience in multi-project management and tasking.
Proficiency in Windows based programs including word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet software.
